Make Music Madison 2025
Weather permitting, we'll be outside by the graffiti wall. In case of rain, we'll bring it inside.
Candace Griffin
11am - 12pm
Alternative and folky, Candace Griffin's music comes straight from the heart. As a songwriter, she takes inspiration from the life around her, and with honest words and acoustic-driven emotions, she puts her listeners right in the moment. You'll think the songs were written just for you.
Sam Rebholz
12pm - 12:30pm
Sam Rebholz is a self-taught guitarist, singer and songwriter. Inspired mainly by hard rock and country/gothic folk, his music is morose and equal parts deadpan and dramatic. Sam is interested in using music as a medium to engage with the world, and specifically highlighting ways in which the culture around us fails to support our humanity. Contrasting a vivid and verbose lyrical style with muted and apathetic chord voicings and hook-like melodies Sam levels sobering insights about common experiences at the audience.
Grant McAndrew
1pm - 1:45pm
"I make experimental ambient music with a focus on ecological sound cultivation rather than sound design."
Disheveled Hen
2pm - 3pm
Former known as Devil's Fen, this reimagined trio of professional musicians looking to relive their regional touring days for a one-time reunion performance. Mark (Drums), Trent (Guitar), and Parker (Bass) perform both originals and covers from groups like Tom Petty, The Police, and Stevie Wonder. The group does not have any active social media, but has performed at every major venue in the greater Madison area and can provide their own backline or drop-in to an existing setup with ease. We are looking to perform approximately 30 minutes or up to one-hour of material. You won't be disappointed with the funk, reggae, rock, and experimental (Yet Danceable) material this power trio has to offer.
Blame It On Cain
3pm - 4pm
“Veteran rockers Blame It On Cain recently returned with their fourth LP, “Implied Maturity,” and there’s a purity about it that is hard to replicate. ... sturdy acoustic guitars and an honest vocal performance, these nine songs have almost an americana feel to them. It’s certainly a summertime record, with plenty of bright tones reminding you of the warmer days where life moves just a little slower to soak everything in. Being the band’s first record in three years, it’s apparent that there’s some care put into this particular songwriting.” - Breaking & Entering Milwaukee August 2022
Nola talks to trees
4:15pm - 5pm
Nola talks to trees is the project of Madison singer-songwriter Nola Pastor (she/her). Nola writes and sings about love, loss, wild things, and complex trauma. She performs with Baz Sundark (hey/they) and Liz Levy (she/her) as the Chaos Gremlins, where they use music as a space to celebrate messy authenticity and the power of chosen family.
