A Kin

Shawn Neary is a son of the Middle West and his songs are of the same stock. He has lived in Southwest Wisconsin for two years now, drinking it all in with gratitude. His music has been described as slow-burning Americana by folks who write those kinds of phrases.

Kendra Swanson is an energetic performer of tribal and indie folk tunes and notorious singalong instigator. She employs clawhammer banjo, rigorous guitar, soulful strings, and hearty vocals for a distinctive, folksome sound.

Blood & Dust w/ Blair Clark and Leah Brooke

Blair Clark will preform songs from his upcoming EP Ring A Bell and others from his broken heart and broken head with Leah Brooke. These two have played together with the Sills and Elks Teeth & Rabbits Feet. Blair Clark's music is dark blue noir. He is a loud crooner, a late bloomer, oddish at best. He has promised to lite the place up or burn it down which ever your night desires. Leah Brooke will make a feeble attempt to stay out of Blairs way, which will be impossible because of her strong presence and amazing voice.

Royal Jelly w/ Tin Can Diamonds

Royal Jelly is a jazzy pop rock foursome put together by front woman, Leah Brooke, just before the beginning of this year. The group has crafted a sound unique to the Madison scene with their intuitive rhythm, melodic bass lines, and a synthesizer keyboard that can go from decorative ambiance to dinosaur cricket with the push of a button (you'd have to be there). Brooke's moody song writing is rich with literary angst and dry wit delivered by a voice that you won't soon forget and has earned her several nominations for the MAMAs!

Pretend Sweethearts w/ Treemo

Pretend Sweethearts is a trio of songwriter/multi-instrumentalists whose voices blend in richly hued harmony, wrapping themselves around songs of love and loss, spiritual yearning and social justice. Their music is a blend of Southern, West Coast and World roots music - a 21st century folk amalgam that simultaneously represents and transcends cosmic americana. Upright bass and pedal steel, guitar and banjo, South American drums and a good ol’ fashioned tambourine shape a music that is well-traveled but still identifiably American.

We are excited to be promoting this show at High Noon, 701 E Washington Ave.

Since 1998, Faun Fables has represented the musical world of Dawn McCarthy, visited in collaboration with her partner Nils Frykdhal. In early times, their wild spirit roamed the streets and hills of the SF-Oakland community and, pilgrim-like, wandered the world, self releasing music before continuing onward to create six albums for Drag City.

Medicine Brothers

Medicine Brothers are Sandler Waggoner and Shawn Neary. They are from the Midwest. They sing winter songs. They sing water songs. They sing what moves them. They sing what they write and they tend to sing it loud. They sing because it has always been their medicine, and always will be.
