May 1 - 31, 2024
Reception: Sun, May 5, 2:00 pm

Ryan Swain is a self taught artist for the last 15 years. He was born in Columbus, Wisconsin but raised in Illinois. He started doing art as long as he can remember as a kid and then started as a hobby in high school. Soon as he graduated from high school art has got him through a lot of life experiences and has become a do or die kind of lifestyle. His mediums consist of acrylics, watercolor, digital art, aerosol and whatever is available to him in his home studio.

A few goals that he has already taken on and is also in the process is sticking to his styles that he has found for his self. He takes his styles of art and doesn’t put a limit on them of how far it can go. He mainly focuses on shapes, colors, patterns and line work. He really enjoys thinking outside of his creative process. How he thinks of some of these ideas is he likes to experiment working on different surfaces such as items he has thrifted or taking his work to larger scales. You can see some of his public work in Monona and Eau Claire Wisconsin. He has a love for public art and on how it can change the scenery and bring community together. He is in the process of practicing larger scale painting and hopes to have more of his work in public areas.

Sometimes an idea just starts from an image in his mind and just he just trusts the process or makes a rough sketch of a concept and goes off that. The inspiration started when he started skateboarding and all the different kind of art on the boards and skateboarders who are artist. He will continue his passion for art and work on more solo or group shows. His message is art can be anything you want it to be if you have the dedication and it will reward you through out life.
